So, last night, the family and I walked over to Macdonalds, which is conveniently across the street, and had ice cream. Abby and Matt played in the playplace, while Tina, Andrew and I played cards. It was a nice moment. However, on the way back, as we were walking across a small field, we had a palm tree fight. Lying all over the ground were palm tree branches. It's not too often someone from Saskatchewan gets to say that. I hid behind a palm tree and attempted to scare the rest. I told Matt and Abby to play between the palm trees... haha, still not getting tired of saying it. Anyway, over the last few weeks, we have been able to see and do some incredible things. The highlight for all of us during this time was our trip into San Francisco. It was truly an amazing experience. We crossed on the Golden Gate Bridge; we walked along Fishermans Wharf and Pier 39; we even took a bus tour. But, if you really want to experience San Francisco, ride a cable car. don't just ride it though, you have to be hanging on the outside. That way, you get to experience the sights and smells of everything going by. This is what I learned riding on the cable cars: 1. The roads are as steep as you see on TV 2. Going downhill, the only thing powering a cable car is gravity 3. Most cable car drivers are very friendly 4. High class hotels are mixed in with the "nudey" places on the cable car route 5. After your finished shopping at Tiffany's, you can take a cable car to Joes Pizza shack. 6. Avoid eye contact with the creepy homeless guy who's anxiously following you around 7. There are security guards inside the Carls jr 8. The view from the highest hill on the cable car route is beautiful 9. Watch out for cable cars coming from the other direction, they get very close 10. Finally, there is a guy that stands at the end of the route holding a sign that says"Jesus loves you", as thousands of people walk by.
I can go on and on...but I'll leave that for another time.
