What a wild couple of months

Posted by Michael and Tina at 10:52 PM on May 31, 2009 Comments comments (0)

It has been a long couple of months. It's hard to believe that it was only 60 days ago that we left New York and headed back to Saskatchewan.

And I totally forgot to mention New York. It is an amazing city, unlike any other city that we had ever been to. The moment we stepped out of the Subway and emerged in the city streets, it was like stepping off of a spaceship and into an entirely different world. The sights and smells were incredible. We packed us much as we could into the week t...

The Countries Capital, Washington DC

Posted by Michael and Tina at 10:08 PM on March 22, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Well, we just left Washington and it really left an impact on me. Tina doesn't share my feelings, but she put up with it anyway. Don't get me wrong, I'm not secretly dying to be American, but the places  that we got to see hold a lot of cultural significance.

Being raised on TV and Movies llike many of us are, we see things like the "National Monument" and the "Lincoln Memorial" , but seeing them in person is a different story. These monments are massive and well worth the time to...

From Sea to Sea

Posted by Michael and Tina at 10:08 AM on March 15, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Ok, let me see if I can get this down without losing it to cyberspace. Since I last wrote, we were in Mississippi and Alabama. Well, we're not there anymore. We have been making up some time so we can make it to New York.

After we left Mississippi, we drove through Alabama ( with a brief stop for lunch to say that we were there) and went to our next destination at Navarre Beach, just outside Pensacola. This place was right along the beach. We celebrated Abby's Birthday here and we had ...

Steeped in History

Posted by Michael and Tina at 09:14 AM on February 05, 2009 Comments comments (0)

First of all, my apologies. I actually blogged twice after new years, but our website server was going through some updates and my entries never got posted.

SO, i will try to bring you up to speed with what has happened in the last month, and it was a very busy month.

After New Years, we travelled to Tucson AZ and enjoyed our stay their. The people at our campsite were friendly, almost too friendly (it was kinda creepy). There were plenty of children so Matthew and Abby were alwa...

Happy New Year

Posted by Michael and Tina at 01:17 PM on January 01, 2009 Comments comments (1)

Happy New Year to all of our friends and family. We are still in Arizona. We spent the last couple of weeks in a town called Buckeye, which is just outside Phoenix. It's been chilly while we've been here...it must go down to about 3-6 degrees here at night... but the days make up for it. It should be 21 this afternoon. smile

Last week we spent Christmas with Tina's cousin Michael (great name) and his family. Also, Tina's Grandma and aunt and unclewere here as well from Melfort. It was a pl...

Another new state... Arizona

Posted by Michael and Tina at 01:16 AM on December 24, 2008 Comments comments (0)

We made it out of California. finally. The first thing we noticed was the speed limit. 75 miles per hour... for those of us working in the KM side of thing, that's close to 125 km/h, with no posted speed sign for trucks and trailers. I don't think any of them were going 75... but we did speed up a little along with the rest of them. In California, the speed limit for trucks and trailers is 55 MPH, which is reasonable. You get great gas mileage, but you have to take a little more time to get t...

Is it December 22 already

Posted by Michael and Tina at 11:56 AM on December 22, 2008 Comments comments (0)
oops....I can't believe that it's been almost a month since I did anything on the website. My sincere apologies to all who are trying to keep up with our whereabouts.  Right now we are nicely settled in Desert Hot Springs CA. It's a small city outside of Palm Springs. For the most part, it's been beautiful here. The weather has been holding steady at around 19 C for most of the days, and at night it drops to about 4-6 C. We did get some rain which is unusual for this area. Apparently, there... Read Full Post »

Santa Rosa, Santa Nella, San Francisco...

So, last night, the family and I walked over to Macdonalds, which is conveniently across the street, and had ice cream. Abby and Matt played in the playplace, while Tina, Andrew and I played cards. It was a nice moment. However, on the way back, as we were walking across a small field, we had a palm tree fight. Lying all over the ground were palm tree branches. It's not too often someone from Saskatchewan gets to say that. I hid behind a palm tree and attempted to scare the rest. I told Matt and... Read Full Post »

We have been on the coast on and off now for about 8 weeks. From Delta BC, Victoria BC, down to Cannon Beach OR, Heceta Beach OR and now Gold Beach OR (their was a brief stop in Puyallup WA as well). And the sights that we have seen have been incredible. Listening to the sounds of the ocean brings a smile to my face. the power, the low rumbling. Tina compared it to the sound of a bad storm with thunder last night. it is very close. We spent the evening sitting in our lawn chairs on the beach lis... Read Full Post »

Brrrrrrrrr......Cannon B-B-Beach

Posted by Michael and Tina at 09:30 AM on October 09, 2008 Comments comments (2)
I can't believe how cold it is. As i type this, the little weather box on my computer reads  four degrees.  Combine that with all of the rain that we had recently and it adds up to miserable. Tina is struggling with all of the rain and clouds. Thank goodness the last couple days have been sunny, but the temperature is still cool. we have perpetual moisture on the windows of the trailer. the easiest way to get rid of it is to open the windows, but the temperature outside would surely ki...
